Here is a little bit about us.
LaSalle-Peru Christian School is thankful for the opportunity to work with each child that God allows to be put in our care. We are committed to providing a quality Christian education.
For over forty years, LPCS has worked to have policies, staff, curriculum, and a student body that brings glory to God, helps families, and trains young people.

Our desire is not only to educate the student but to also help them grow in the Lord. To do this, the Bible must be used, not only in our classroom, but also in all that we do and in every decision and policy we make. Our objective is not to convert our students to Baptist; however, as a Baptist church, we will hold to our beliefs and teach Baptist doctrine and nothing else.
LaSalle-Peru Christian School is a ministry of First Baptist Church. Therefore, the school must be in agreement in all it does with the church and its purpose.
In 1977, Dr. Lloyd Streeter had a burden for a Christian school for children, and led the church in pursuing this possibility. In 1978, the church opened the doors of LaSalle-Peru Christian School.
First Baptist Church has been interested in education for over 180 years. One of the first schools in this area was built by this church and was held in its buildings for several years until the school had its own building.
Our objective is not to teach man's wisdom but to teach God's. Unless children are taught the way of God, they will not go that way. Proverbs 14:12 says, "There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death." Children must be taught the right things and in the right way.
We believe there is a difference between Christian education and secular education. We believe a Christian education will not only give a good education but will also help a child be like Christ and do His will. Colossians 2:8 says, "Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ."
The doctrinal statement of LaSalle-Peru Christian School is the same as that of First Baptist Church. A brief summary is as follows:

1.  We believe the Bible to be the inerrant, inspired Word of God.
2.  We believe there is one eternal God who exists in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
3. We believe in the vicarious and substitutional atonement for the sins of man by the shedding of Christ's blood on the cross.
4.  We believe in the deity of Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, and His sacrificial death on the cross for our sins. We also believe He conquered death, rose from the grave, ascended to Heaven, and is coming again.
5.  We believe that man is a sinner that can only receive forgiveness of sins and receive an eternity in Heaven by grace through faith in Christ.
